Alden Cottage Bed & Breakfast

• Our individually designed Bed and Breakfast bedrooms all have great views and we pride ourselves on quality and our attention to detail in making your stay as comfortable as possible. Your room will include fresh flowers, bathrobes, hairdryer, central heating, electric blanket, radio/alarm, chocolates and tea & coffee making facilities.
   

• Luxurious private or en suite bathroom facilities include Jacuzzi® or Biojet™ whirlpool bath and power shower.
   

• 2009 saw our B&B  winning a VisitBritain/Kellogg's Breakfast Award.  As well as our traditional Lancashire Breakfast using local ingredients and home-made marmalades, you can choose from a selection of lighter alternatives. Enjoy our refreshing fresh fruit salad followed by creamy scrambled eggs and smoked salmon, or delicious blueberry pancakes layered with wild blueberries and served with creme fraiche?  We also offer vegetarian options and are happy to cater for special diets if advised in advance.
   

•  You can relax in the beamed sitting room which is for the exclusive use of B&B guests and has stunning views of the pretty cottage garden and valley beyond. Toast your toes in front of a roaring log fire in the winter evenings.
   

• Laundry, drying, ironing and shoe-cleaning facilities are all available to Bed and Breakfast guests on request.
   

• We can arrange packed lunches if advised in advance and, for cyclists, we are happy to lock your bicycles in our garage overnight.

Non-smoking: All Bed and Breakfast rooms are non-smoking. 

Pets: We regret that we do not accept pets - not even well behaved ones - sorry.

B&B Check-in Time: Your room will be available from 3.30pm on day of arrival. Bags may be dropped off earlier by prior arrangement.

B&B Check-out Time is 10.30am on day of departure.

Access: Alden Cottage Bed & Breakfast is accessed from the lane by a short track. There is a step down from the car park area to the path before the garden gate.
Please note that Alden Cottage was once a series of cottages and there are steps between many of the rooms. All the B&B bedrooms are situated on the first floor which may make it unsuitable for the disabled or infirm (please contact us if you require further information).

How to Book Bed & Breakfast

We are happy to accept B&B reservations by telephone or e-mail and will hold a provisional booking for 7 days to await written confirmation and a deposit (please check availability first). 

Please note that a non-refundable deposit of £20 per room per night is required to secure B&B reservations.  (Please make cheques payable to B Carpenter).

We regret we do not have facilities to accept payment by credit/debit card. However, we can accept prepayment via PayPal although there is an additional administration charge for this service (please ask for details).
