Alden Cottage Self Catering Accommodation

• You can relax and enjoy a complimentary bottle of wine in front of a roaring log fire in the cosy oak beamed sitting room, which includes electric central heating, flat screen TV/DVD player, hard disc digital recorder, CD player, antique furniture plus wood burning stove. The sitting room has beautiful views of the cottage garden and Ribble Valley.

• From the dining area, the double doors lead to a compact but well equipped modern kitchen with electric hob and oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster and iron. We think there's everything you'll need if you decide to exercise your culinary skills in true self catering style. You are also welcome to use the lovely back garden which includes a patio area with table and chairs for you to enjoy al fresco dining.
   
• Alternatively, should you want to eat out, Alden Cottage is only a short drive away from many excellent eating establishments from local pubs serving mouth watering homemade specialities to fine dining restaurants for that special occasion plus a number of 'gastropubs' serving some of Lancashire's best local produce.
   
• After a hard day's sightseeing in the beautiful Ribble Valley and Forest of Bowland you can rest those tired bones, or simply have a good soak in the cottage's Biojet™ whirlpool bath. The immaculate en-suite bathroom comes equipped with over bath power shower, bidet, heated towel rail and airing cupboard.
   
• A comfy night's sleep is assured in the romantic en-suite double bedroom with exposed oak beams, central heating, electric blanket, hairdryer, radio/alarm, tea and coffee making facilities. Then, in the morning, wake up to the stunning views of the garden and valley beyond.
   

Please note:

• Non-smoking: Alden Cottage Self Catering Holiday Cottage is fully non-smoking accommodation.
   

• Pets: We regret we are unable to accept pets - not even well behaved ones. Sorry!
   

• A 24 hour laundry service is available.
   

• Self Catering Check-in Time:  The keys to the holiday cottage are available from 4.00pm on the date of arrival.
   

• Self Catering Check-out time:  10.00am on the date of departure.
   

• Parking:  There is plenty of off road parking adjacent to the holiday cottage.
   

• Access:  The cottage is located down a short track from the road. Because of our rural location, a car is strongly recommended.  The nearest bus stop is in Hurst Green (2 miles). The main supermarkets are located in Clitheroe (4 miles).
  
  The bedroom and bathroom in the self catering cottage are located on the first floor and reached by a staircase with12 steps and a handrail on one side. Please contact us if you require more detailed access information on the cottage's interior.

Price Includes:

• All electricity and lighting, central heating (via Economy 7).
   

• Towels, bed linen with duvet, tea towels.  If you would prefer the bed to be made with sheets and blankets instead of a duvet, please let us know when you book and we will be happy to arrange this.
   

• A welcome pack of provisions on arrival, bottle of wine, sample toiletries.
   

• A complimentary basket of logs.  Extra logs may be purchased from the main house.

How to Book Self Catering

Alden Cottage Self Catering can be booked for short breaks as well as per week.  We are happy to accept bookings beginning on any day of the week subject to availability.  We recommend that you telephone or e-mail us first to check availability. 

We will be happy to hold a provisional booking for seven days pending arrival of your completed and signed Self Catering Booking Form plus a non-refundable deposit cheque of £80 per week or part-week.  Your cheque must be drawn on a UK bank and made payable to B Carpenter.  (Alternatively, you can pay by credit/debit card over the internet using the PayPal secure payment system although there is a small administration charge for this service - please contact us for details.)  Please remember to sign your Self Catering Booking Form to show that you have read and agree to abide by the Booking Conditions.
